GET READY FOR BIG CHANGES IN JUNE 2018

Connections 2025 is Capital Metro’s vision for a more frequent, more reliable and better connected transit system. It will guide the evolution of our network over the next 5 years and identify long-range opportunities for the next 10.

Changes that have grown our of the plan include:

• The elimination of the Premium fare in January 2017
• The increase in MetroRapid frequencies in August 2017

But now we’re planning to put in place a much more significant part of Connections 2025 with sweeping changes to our bus system that will go into effect in June. More than half of our current 82 routes will see some level of change, and we’ll add 8 more bus routes to our High-Frequency Network and greatly improve east-west service.

Connections 2025 reflects a long-term commitment by Capital Metro to reshape public transportation across Central Texas into a system that feels more frequent, more reliable, and better connected for daily riders alike.

The plan guides decisions about routes, service levels, and network structure, with the goal of creating a transit environment where waiting times shrink and travel becomes more predictable throughout the day.

A core theme of the vision is connectivity, ensuring that neighborhoods, job centers, and community destinations are linked through a coherent and intuitive web of bus service and supporting infrastructure.

The initiative also explores long-range opportunities, looking beyond immediate adjustments to anticipate how the region will grow and what kinds of mobility solutions will be needed in the coming decade.

Public outreach plays a central role, inviting residents to share feedback, attend events, and follow updates that help shape how each phase of the network evolves over time.

Resources such as webinars, FAQs, and study documents are made available so that anyone curious about the planning process can learn how tradeoffs are identified and evaluated.

The vision embraces the idea that as the region grows, services should expand thoughtfully, offering more frequent options on busy corridors while maintaining dependable coverage in quieter areas.

Ultimately, Connections 2025 is framed as a community conversation about mobility, one that encourages ongoing participation and keeps the public informed as the transit system continues to develop.
