GET READY FOR BIG CHANGES IN JUNE 2018
Connections 2025 is Capital Metro’s vision for a more frequent, more reliable and better connected transit system. It will guide the evolution of our network over the next 5 years and identify long-range opportunities for the next 10.
We’ve already begun to implement the plan with the elimination of the Premium fare in January and increase in MetroRapid frequencies in August. But now we’re planning to put in place a much more significant part of Connections 2025. The Capital Metro board of directors will vote in November on proposed changes to our bus system that would go into effect in June 2018.
More than half of our current 82 routes would see some level of change. We would add 8 more bus routes to our High-Frequency Network, greatly improve service linking the east and west sides of Austin and eliminate 17 routes entirely.
We’re hosting several public meetings about the proposed changes in September and October to give you a chance to learn about the proposal and offer feedback. Visit capmetro.org/june2018 for maps of the proposed system changes, details on what would change and information on meeting dates and locations.
